Responsibility

Health and Safety

FM Services
Conducting business in a responsible and sustainable manner is essential to the continued success of ISS. This is supported by a strong commitment to safeguarding the health, safety and well being of our employees and others who may be affected by our work activities.

Our approach

The ISS vision is to maintain a workplace free from injuries and illnesses and to be an industry leader in the way we deliver health and safety performance.

ISSafe is our health and safety management system based on internationally recognised frameworks and provides the foundation for achieving our required performance standards. The system is underpinned by a systematic risk management process which is applied to our equipment, methods, products and services. Continual improvement of health and safety performance, as well as business operations, is also a key aspect.

As we mostly operate on customer premises, we co-operate and engage with our customers and employees to ensure appropriate health and safety standards are in place. This includes encouraging our employees to take care of their own safety and the safety of those they meet.

Global ISS

ISS has established a global health, safety and environment management framework and reporting standards to ensure a consistent approach across all ISS operations. This provides capability to conduct regional and global benchmarking and improve local standards of performance.

Safety Rules

The ISS Safety Rules have been developed to provide a uniform standard of safety behaviour for our employees and contractors when interacting with the major hazards commonly encountered in ISS workplaces.

The ISS Safety Rules cover the following activities:
