Indigenous Coffee Connection

ISS has recently established a supply-partnership with Australian Indigenous Coffee (AIC). Through this relationship, we have already delivered several new coffee machines and AIC's "Rustic Blend" coffee beans to three of our Resources contracts in WA.
The AIC are the leading Aboriginal coffee company, operated by Ngurra Coffee. They specialise in providing rustic coffee and complementary coffee machines to WA mining and corporate customers. The AIC is also dedicated to supporting the local community, and has established a “Coffee to Art” program that assists remote Aboriginal artists through the Budadee Foundation. In addition, portion of the AIC profits go directly to the Magabala Books “Small Seeds Big Reads” program, which helps develop Aboriginal children’s literacy skills.

ISS is accelerating our commitments to Indigenous Australians, creating more employment opportunities and supporting more Indigenous businesses than ever before. This year, we have established or extended partnerships with eight Indigenous companies. We are projected to spend over $4.5million in 2019 with Indigenous businesses and Supply Nation members.

An emerging and prosperous Indigenous business economy is presenting unprecedented opportunities for Indigenous entrepreneurs to grow and succeed. ISS’ social procurement approach supports this emerging economy and directly benefits Indigenous business-people, employees and the local community. Our relationship with the AIC is another connection we can be proud of.
